Bucket List.

Spring break is coming up soon and I can't tell you how ready I am for it to come. This is the first time I have asked for time off at Borders. So... recently I have been making a "bucket list." You know, a list of things you need to do before you die. I wont spoil the whole thing but here are a few items on the list...

  1. Go Skydiving
  2. See Paul McCartney in concert
  3. Fall completely love
  4. Help a stranger
  5. Attend a national futbol game
  6. Play the guitar in public
  7. Perform CPR
  8. Eat a 12 patty Lindy's burger
  9. Run a marathon
  10. Hitch Hike
You know... weird stuff like that! Haha. Well I am about to mark one of those things off my list soon. It looks like Paul McCartney is coming to ARIZONA! Wooooohooo! I am so excited.

Moving Forward.

"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."

I can't even describe the many changes there have been in my life recently. I have good friends studying abroad, friends that are now married, friends that are just no longer in my life anymore. At times it makes me sad to see things changing. It makes me reflect on my life and the choices I'm making. And I have come to one conclusion. Always move forward. If you get hurt, if you stumble, even if you fall. Get back up and move forward. Its hard for me to imagine ever having better friends than I have had these past several years. But the truth is, the world is a big place. You have to go out there and meet new people every day. Never let fear or anxiety hold you back. I have been making some really good friends at the institute lately and Im really excited for this semester!

China.

I recently got accepted into a program called the International Language Program. We are given a classroom of about 10 children and teach English to them four days a week. I will be leaving for Weihai China this next August! Ever since graduating from college I have moved schools/locations almost every semester. There was always some different reason to be where I was at that moment. I am what you would call... a "free spirit."

Recently I have become more devoted to my studies and to finishing school. I really would like to get my degree so that I can start teaching and making a life for myself. I struggled with this decision to go to China because I figured that I was being "irresponsible." But I had to take a look at myself and what I really want in life. The things that are important to me and the reasons why I am doing this. I decided that life is short. Although school is very important to me..... I feel that in this life you need to take risks and adventures. And so that is what Im doing. Im going on an adventure. My first payment was this month. It now feels all so real. I bought a basic mandarin chinese instruction kit and I play the CD's in the car every day on my way to work. I can't wait to meet all of the children I will be teaching!!!

So Small.

I just watched the movie about Columbine the other day. It got me thinking a lot about the things we let go unsaid. So often our head tries to fight what our heart is feeling. Whether it be because of pride, anger, passion or resentment. The bottom line is we need to say what's in our HEARTS... not what's on our minds. As Carrie says... Love is all that matters after all.

I know this is very "blogish" but... I think we all forget to tell the people in our lives how much we love them sometimes.

KAJUKENBO.

When I was in elementary school I used to do a form of Karate called "Kajukenbo." I was apart of the Sei Ryu Kan dojo meaning "the path of peaceful strength." I recently discovered that my old Sensei is still here in TUCSON!!!! I miss that part of my life so much and have decided to start up again! I am so excited! Man it sure feels good to wear a gis again!
